WHAT IS THE GOOD WEEKEND?
The Good Weekend is an extension of Good Friday - a collective of community service events in New York City hosted by millennial-focused philanthropic crew Camp Ryan. Camp Ryan provides the opportunity for young, Black volunteers to give back through participating in various social good experiences the Thursday and Saturday accompanying Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
These events do not only give back to New York City neighborhoods and organizations but allow city residents the opportunity to use their time and energy to improve the streets they walk on, and the lives of the people they pass everyday. It's a New York City BFF story, founded in bringing our communities together for a common goal - supporting each other. Just like the lessons we learned in our childhood summer camps.

Volunteer Opportunity #1
The Hunger Games | Harlem
For this Hunger Games experience we have the great opportunity to work with the scholars of Promise Academy 1 with our Hunger Games experience.
It starts with The Reaping...a celebratory first meeting, where campers (Camp Ryan volunteers) will prepare the bag lunches for the games to follow.
Then The Hunger Games begin...as teams all volunteers leave from one location with intent to distribute their lunch bags first, and win!

Blox by Blox | Harlem
Work with Promise Academy 1 and provide a unique community service experience for their scholars.
An initiative focused on tree stewardship, Blox By Blox inspires to harness the power of the people to change their community through neighborhood beautification projects. They firmly believe that communities lined with healthy trees are a representation of its success. What better way to spend a Saturday than to tend to some tree beds in Harlem - now that's successful!

Girl Camp with Soul Through Sole | Brooklyn
Work with Girl Camp + Soul Thru Sole's founder Tiffany Moore to heal through dance.
This year we have the chance to work with the CEO + Owner of 'Soul Thru Sole' Dance Studio, Tiffany Moore, to heal through dance. Tiffany will bring her empowering talents to the patrons of the Camba Women's Shelter to focus on healing, freedom, sisterhood through movement of dance.

Pizza Perfect Pizza Party | Manhattan (Grand Central)
Work with Grand Central Neighborhood Shelter and provide a unique experience for their patrons.
Join us as we takeover the evening meal service and host a pop up pizza party!
