Exploring the world and experiencing new perspectives is the dream of many, especially young girls. Unfortunately, due to finances and lack of opportunities many do not get to take part in this luxury. The company, Girls Going Global provides an avenue for young inner city girls to travel outside of the United States to places like Toronto and Costa Rica. Founded by Spelman College graduate, Martice Sutton in 2012 in her community of West Philadelphia, Girls Going Global is expanding further than she ever imagined and garnering tremendous support .
This past Saturday, May 17th Girls Going Global hosted a fundraising brunch at the Horseradish Grill in Atlanta, GA . The brunch aided in financing this summers trip to Costa Rica and gave Sutton a chance to thank all of those who have supported her throughout the years. A few of the girls going on the trip to Costa Rica in a few weeks were also given the opportunity to express what the opportunity to travel outside of the country means to them.
