WEARBRIMS RELEASES "CAMPUS CROWNS" COLLECTION IN COLLABORATION WITH SUPPORT BLACK COLLEGES
An ode to the HBCUs that educate, nurture and provide crowns to its students from the moment they step on campus
AUGUST 31ST, 2020 (National) - WEARBRIMS has officially released their latest collection “Campus Crowns” in collaboration with leading brand Support Black Colleges. The “Campus Crowns” collection is a limited edition release created to commemorate HBCUs and the legacies they produce, educate, nurture and guide. For HBCU students, current and alumni, stepping onto their campus for the first time feels like finally stepping into themselves. They are welcomed into a place where their authenticity is gifted with a crown, a reminder of the royalty that is evident in their history…and their future.
The collection lookbook was shot on the campus of the historic Morris Brown College - an institution that in the past has suffered from the process of potential loss of accreditation. Shooting the lookbook on Morris Brown College’s campus was an important decision made by WEARBRIMS in order to catalyze a continuance of conversation around the preservation of this country’s HBCUs. Co-founders Archie Clay III and Tajh Crutch feel particularly connected to this collection, and the importance of the HBCU experience. Clay is a proud Tuskegee University alum and Crutch has personally resonated with the positive effect attending an HBCU has had on his community of friends and family. They expressed:
“The Campus Crown Collection is an ode to the transformations we undergo throughout our journeys in life. It parallels the lessons we've learned throughout the School of Life - where Earth is our campus, and every Obstacle is our professor. Our narrative of majestic origins has been silenced, but now, we tell our story proudly & with our crowns uplifted. Together, our Campus Crowns create an Exalted Kingdom, for us, by us.”
Although the collection commemorates HBCUs, it was made with everyone in mind. The mission and values proclaimed by HBCUs is something that anyone can experience. Your Campus Crown is a birthright, only made more valuable as you overcome the obstacles of life. And the only way we do that is together.
The collection is available now exclusively at www.supportblackcolleges.org and consists of sweatshirts, baseball caps, and t-shirts ranging in sizes S-3XL and in four bright and appealing color ways. #heavyisthecrown #campuscrowns
